Jen Woldrich

Writer/Director

From an early age, Jen has been telling stories to anyone who would listen. Whether it was a short story typed on her mom’s typewriter, a play she forced her siblings to perform, or the chronicle of her day’s adventures at the dinner table: she’s always been a storyteller at heart.

For over a decade, Jen has written, directed and produced short films and music videos while also working in various positions in the film Industry on features and TV shows like Tarantino’s Grindhouse, Argo, and HBO’s True Blood. She has considerable experience directing actors, including years of training at the Beverly Hills Playhouse.

Unafraid of dark subject matter, Jen gravitates toward genre films like sci-fi, horror, and fantasy, but loves any well-crafted story with rich characters. A unifying element to her work are bold, unapologetic female leads who are strong, complex, and tenacious not in spite of their gender, but because of it. She focuses on exposing the humanity and emotion of all characters, male and female alike, to reveal the heart of each story.

"OUT" won for Best Acting at the Women's Independent Film Festival 2015, was nominated for the Female Eye Filmmaker Award at the 2016 New Hope Film Festival, and was an official selection at the 2016 California Women’s Film Festival (summer).  “Somebody’s Watching” was nominated for Best Horror in the 2016 SoCal Clips Indie Film Festival.

Currently, Jen is in post on several short form projects and in development on multiple feature films and series.
